chunkBy fires of digest every few seconds

I'm using chunkBy in an ng-repeat, and I notice that the components are re-rendering every few seconds or so. This doesn't happen if I take the chunkBy out.

Any thoughts on what could be causing it?

I'm doing something like this:

<div class="row" ng-repeat="child in $ctrl.node.children | chunkBy: 2">
....
</div>

I also got the same problem in Safari, and now use JS to implement chunk function to replace chunkBy.

How can I replicate it?, how can I notice the re-rendering?
