GSoC 2026 proposal: Extending hardware-less mock mode for testing & onboarding #281

Hi @mariobehling — I'm planning to submit a GSoC 2026 proposal
around extending the hardware-less mock mode (started in #269 ).
Your feedback that it's "a useful direction for testing and onboarding"
really motivated me to think bigger about where this could go.
Before I finalize the proposal, I wanted to check — would you or anyone
on the team be open to mentoring this? I'd love to align on scope so the
proposal is actually useful to the project.
