8BitDo controller does not work for playing the game #1753

Describe the Bug
When using the 8BitDo Pro 2 controller in either DirectInput or XInput mode, nothing works. You can't even press Start to begin the game; no buttons respond.
Steps to Reproduce
- Buy a 8BitDo pro 2 controller
- Pair it to a windows 11 computer
- Have the controller either in directinput or xinput
- Start the game
- No buttons work
Expected Behavior
Be able to start the game and use a controller to play it.
