Assuming for now that some time in the future (hopefully soon) internxt will perform as a reliable cloud backup, large photo collections would be uploaded.
However, your rclone adapter forces the generation of thumbnails for each image. The throughput goes down to 1 image in 2 sec (on strong PC, FTTH internet).
There needs to be an option to switch that off. Even crooked Windows OS can do that ...
People who want backup would turn it off, people who want the new/coming photo cloud feature(s) would turn it on. Simple, right?
