An earlier version of this patch that was written right after PR #2127 had been laying around for ~1 1/2 years. The glossary is far from a state I like but slowly expanding and tweaking it is better than doing nothing.

(IMO the glossary needs a more consistent & better structure, styling & wording; e.g., how / where / when to link or cross-link, how to make it more approachable, etc. etc. idk)
